Advice for gloco

I've been practicing my aerials for 4 MONTHS! now. And the reason why I can't progress as fast as others is because of my busy schedule. I used to drill my aerials only once every 2 weeks whenever I felt like it. So I couldn't really progress at all! The last time I drilled my aerial was a month ago, so I am starting out from scratch again! But now that my School is out of the way I can concentrate more in finally getting this Aerial! The road to my aerial will start here!

I've accomplished all the pre-requisites of the aerial; the CARTWHEEL, One-handed Cartwheel, DIVING CARTWHEEL, DIving One handed cartwheel.
If you want me to show my pre-requisites on my next video then I will.

So far I think that I am not jumping and not kicking my back leg very hard but the problem is, I don't even know how to properly jump and kick the back leg.
I've been trying to DIP down and jump but I don't know if I am doing it properly.
And I try to force my kicking leg UP as hard as I can but I think it's not going high enough. I can't do splits as-well so Iam not that flexible. I don't have any background in martial arts.

Analysis and Suggestions

I'm glad to see that you have the basic wheel mechanics down very well, this should help the Aerial feel a little more natural for you when you do finally get it.

One thing that you are doing however, is dipping during the takeoff. You're kinda throwing your upper body at the ground when you dive into it. You don't really want to do that. Your upper body should be at it's lowest point well before you jump into the Aerial. It should start rising again even before your jumping foot leaves the ground.

Get used to that tempo: dip > rise, dip > rise. Right now you're just diving and dipping. You may have to practice this step verrry slowly actually. You've already got the improper way to Aerial in your muscle memory, so the only way to get the proper technique in there is to practice it slowly and methodically.

Go down over that knee, and then go up. Don't rush towards the ground, bend down, then go up! As you go up, spread those arms (like you are), and kick that back leg up (like you are also for the most part). You can't fly by throwing your upper body at the ground.

So for you it's simply a matter of timing. Instead of dipping down while diving into the trick, dip down, then go up! Really exaggerate the dipping if you have to! Try dipping down, pausing for one whole second, and then jump up! Haha. Get that rhythm going in your head! Keep it up man, you'll have it soon!

This properly isn't the best way to go about it, but I got my first aerial through a huge massive run up. Over time, I began to get used to the motion up until the point where I could do the move from a few steps. Again, not reccomended (bad tech.). But it might be able to give you a 'feel' for the move

I tried doing aerials but with a b-kick setup and they looked like b-kicks. But it did help me realize how an aerial should feel like, especially when pulling the back leg down. However Iam trying to do an aerial with a walking startnow. Once my legs recover I'll make another vid. Thanks for the tips BTW! Keep em coming!

When I was learning the Aerial, I tried it from the butterfly kick setup, inverting the b-kick, and that helped me a lot. Then I was just advancing to standing setup (just sweeping my left leg and then bam! Aerial). Try it that way, and I am sure it will help you! (Hope I am not wrong xD)
